Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Nielsen to the position of Vice President- Operations.

As the longtime General Manager of both The Sutton Place Hotel Revelstoke Mountain Resort and Sandman Hotel Revelstoke, Nielsen has been an integral part of the resort’s growth since Northland Properties Corporation took ownership in 2008.

In his new role, Nielsen will oversee the ski experience, accommodation, and food and beverage operations at the Resort.

Graham Rennie, President of Northland Asset Management, said Nielsen’s extensive experience in the hospitality industry and familiarity with Resort operations and the community make him the natural choice to lead Revelstoke Mountain Resort through the next stages of growth.

“Peter’s greatest strengths are his proven leadership skills and his ability to understand our guests’ needs and ensure they are catered to at the highest level. With his demonstrated commitment to the Revelstoke properties I am confident he will thrive in his expanded role.”

Nielsen is excited to take on the new challenge and continue to improve guest experiences across the entire resort.

“We have an extraordinary team of people here, and I can’t wait to get started helping them create even better memories for our clients at what is already one of the world’s best skiing destinations.”

Nielsen has over 20 years of experience in the resort and hospitality industry and prior to joining the team in Revelstoke, worked in a range of markets, both in B.C. and abroad, including Australia, Switzerland, Whistler, Victoria, and Pender Island.
