Langley Auto Collection's Tour de Gourmet will become an annual shindig.

More than 600 people gathered in Langley’s luxury auto mall to participate in the food equivalent of a pub crawl.

And they did it all for charity, and the chance to sample the creations of some of Vancouver’s top chefs.

People from around the Lower Mainland roamed between the Langley Auto Collection dealerships in the inaugural event called Tour de Gourmet.

It included visitors meandering through the Audi Langley, BMW MINI Langley, Infiniti Langley, and Jaguar Land Rover Langley, savouring a “sumptuous” four-course meal and numerous custom-crafted cocktail, then conclude the night with live entertainment, desserts, and after-dinner drinks at Porsche Centre Langley.

Organizers called it a “progressive dinner experience” featuring top Vancouver chefs, restaurants, mixologists, and entertainers.

Proceeds from the successful event will be going to KidSport Langley and Surrey-White Rock, two non-profit organizations that give children the opportunity to engage in organized sports by removing financial barriers that limit their participation.

The total donation will not be announced until later this month.

“Thanks to the hard work of the teams at all seven dealers in the Langley Auto Collection, we were able to deliver an amazing experience for all of our guests and raise significant funds for a very important local cause,” said Oliver Sea, president of the Langley Auto Collection.

“We were overwhelmed by the positive feedback and look forward to hosting the Tour de Gourmet again in 2018,” he added.
