Residents of Hope and the surrounding region can pick up copies of all the various free publications from Tourism British Columbia from the Hope Visitor Centre. The new 2011 Accommodation Guide, Vacation Planner and regional tourism guides have just arrived so now is the time to start planning your holiday trips in our very own province.
The Hope Visitor Centre is open year round at 919 Water Avenue. The Visitor Centre staff welcome those traveling from around the world as well as those from just around the corner, so local Hope residents should know they can come in to find information for their own vacation plans.
Whether you want to go on a camping holiday in the Okanagan Valley, experience a guest ranch in the Cariboo, make a shopping and entertainment trip into Vancouver or treat yourself to a fishing or golfing weekend, the Visitor Centre has what you need.
There are also ferry schedules, Bed & Breakfast directories, community guides, attraction and activity brochures and many other free information pamphlets on the racks.
Staff members can research events throughout BC, provide ideas for visiting friends and relatives and make up packages of info for you to send to others. The many resource books that they have on hand allow them to find answers to almost any question you can pose about British Columbia.
The Hope Visitor Centre is currently open from 10AM to 4 PM from Monday to Saturday. As Spring progresses into Summer, the hours of operation will gradually expand so that a daily schedule of 8AM to 8PM is maintained throughout July and August.
