The White Rock BIA and the South Surrey White Rock Chamber of Commerce know well the value of going to friendly local retailers for our shopping and service needs.
And to prove it they’re contributing some stellar grand prizes to Peace Arch News‘ latest Shop Local contest which debuts on Aug. 28.
White Rock BIA executive director Alex Nixon said his organization is putting together ‘A Great Saturday in White Rock’ which will include a gift cards for brunch and dinner at a choice of several popular White Rock restaurants, as well as two tickets for a live music show at the intimate Blue Frog Studios venue.
And chamber executive director Ritu Khanna said her organization is putting together its own prize package, details still to be confirmed, designed to complement that – one that’s “all about pampering yourself in South Surrey.”
“We live in such an incredible community, where there is a business for every need,” Khanna said.
“You can eat, play, shop, pamper yourself and find special services and professional services,” she added.
“That’s why we’re excited to be part of this Peace Arch News program – we have it all, and you don’t have to go far for anything.”
Also included in the White Rock BIA package, Nixon said, will be gift cards for coffee at a local cafe, beer at one of the city’s two craft breweries and delicious treats at Crazy Cow’s Ice Cream and Gelato.
“We’re still finalizing a few things but it works out to be around a $500 value,” Nixon said.
“It shows how much fun you can have in White Rock,” he added.
“One of the joys of this city is that we’ve got so many small businesses where you’re dealing with the owner, and the owner’s dream and vision.
“That means they care about the customers and the quality of the product they’re selling – you’re not only getting a high level of service, but the products are better.”
