In its fourth year, a Cozy Coat Collection Campaign proved to be a great success.
“This community always blows me away,” said Remax’s Court Smith. “They bring in new and used coats.”
Realtor Pauline Smith said a lot of people really want to see a favourite coat they are not wearing anymore go to a good cause.
“It’s nice to see your quality jacket or coat going to someone else.”
The coats were picked up by the Salvation Army on Monday, Dec. 17 while staff a Remax served hot chocolate, coffee and doughnuts outside the office on Third Avenue South.
Pauline said there have been some winters that have been so cold that people have been motivated to donate more.
“We were still happy with the results and next year will start even earlier,” Smith said. “We are thinking maybe we will go door-to-door and office-to-office to invite people to participate.”
Court said Remax wants to give more to the community moving forward.
