Bryon Brandle of Re/Max Vernon- Silver Star has been elected chair of the Real Estate Council of B.C. for the 2011/12 term.
He was named to the position at the council’s July 19 meeting in Vancouver. There are 16 members of the council, including three members appointed by the B.C. government. The remaining 13 are chosen through an election process, open to all real estate licensees in the province.
Elected members are comprised of nine brokers, plus one from each of the three provincial regions and one individual to represent the strata/rental property management.
Brandle has been involved in real estate since the 1970s and is currently the CEO of nine Re/Max brokerages in the North Okanagan/Shuswap.
He has also worked in developing residential and commercial properties in the North Okanagan. He holds a diploma in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia and a law degree from the University of Victoria.
Brandle is a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Canada, a member and past director of the Real Estate Institute of B.C. and is a member and past director of the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board.
In 2009, Brandle received the Re/Max International Broker/Owner of the Year award. He has served as a director of the Community Foundation of the North Okanagan.
