Water diverted for run-of-river hydro project appears to have no impact on streamflow during spring freshet
High water cascades over a small dam across Bone Creek north of Blue River on July 1. The dam diverts a portion of the creek for use by TransAlta’s run-of-the-river Wecmilcetkwe hydro-electric station. The penstock feeding the power station is about seven feet in diameter and seven km long.
