The Rotary Duck Race has become a fun community event and a fundraiser for youth. An information meeting is scheduled for this Saturday at The ACT.

The Rotary Duck Race is looking to help youth groups raise needed funds, and is hosting a information meeting on Saturday.

The annual rubber duck race down the scenic Alouette River is now in its seventh year, and has become a fun community event in Maple Ridge park.

It is also an established lottery fundraising program available to all non-profit youth organizations in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

The event is run by the cities two Rotary clubs, and 90 per cent of the funds raised through ticket sales is granted back to youth organizations. Additional funds go to Kidsport – a non-profit group that helps to allow under-resourced Canadian youth participate in organized sports.

A public meeting is being held on March 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby at The ACT. The purpose is to offer information about this fundraising opportunity and distribute tickets for sale.
