Gather your girlfriends together and say “I do” to a night of pre-wedding fun.
Old traditions meet new additions with cake-offs, cupcakes, and colours galore at this year’s Fraser Valley Wedding Festival, happening in Langley on March 4.
“The show is going to be so much fun. Make it a girls’ night out,” suggested Tamara O’Brien, event producer of the Fraser Valley’s longest running wedding show.
“The show is a great way to hang out with girlfriends and check everything off the wedding to-do list.”
And what’s near the top of every bride’s list? The cake, of course.
With that in mind, the second annual cake-off, to be held at the event, will crown the next “Top Pastry Chef.”
To satisfy their sugar cravings, guests will be able to dip into the chocolate fountain in the complimentary bridal tearoom or sample cupcakes from Frostings Cupcakery.
Of course, girls’ night out is not complete without a bit of vino.
“This year, we’re adding wine sampling and a few other surprises,” O’Brien said.
The show features a unique décor showcase that includes a multitude of entirely decorated one-of-a-kind rooms with beautiful floral arrangements, aisle ideas, and table dressings in the season’s hottest colours: mint green and yellow.
Mingle with wedding experts, make a flip book with your girlfriends, and then watch the interactive fashion show.
“You may just spot the perfect dress, or maybe a tux for your handsome groom,” said O’Brien.
The Fraser Valley Wedding Festival is happening on Monday, March 4, from 4 p.m. to
8 p.m. at the Cascades Coast Hotel and Convention Centre, located at 20393 Fraser Hwy.
Admission is $5 and tickets can be purchased at the door, and $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
