The Comox Valley Small Business Association hosts a meeting on Thursday, March 3 at the Filberg Centre’s Evergreen Room. Start time is 5:30 pm. Owners of small businesses are invited to attend as guests.
There will be networking from 5:30-6, and then the educational portion of the meeting starts and runs until 7 p.m.
The guest speaker will be attorney Wayne Anderson, partner in Anderson & Co. Barristers & Solicitors. He will speak about pros and cons of incorporation, and how it compares to sole proprietorships and partnerships.
Guests should bring business cards for the networking portion of the meeting. They are invited to bring a door prize and a snack to share.
The SBA’s March 17 meeting at the Filberg will include networking and a spotlight presentation by Lori Ball of CV Fossil Adventures. There will also be a ‘mastermind’ session that promotes a ‘group-think’ approach to addressing business scenarios often faced by entrepreneurs.
There is no charge to attend SBA meetings as a guest for up to two meetings per year.
The dues to join the group, which meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month (except December, July and August), are $95 per year.
