The Eighth Annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookies campaign is underway until Sept. 26, and proceeds raised will be donated to a local charity.
“All the money raised will go towards the 100 Mile House Food Bank Society,” Tim Hortons owner Steve McPhail says, adding that last year, $6,280 was donated to the local food bank.
“This community really rallies behind causes; everyone is so supportive.”
McPhail’s wife and co-owner, Barb, made up pre-order forms, which are very popular with the local merchants. The forms are delivered to the businesses, which then can pre-order cookies to have ready for pickup.
“Volunteers from the food bank are dropping off the forms, and people can choose to have the cookies decorated or not.”
Smile cookies are only available for one week. Folks can purchase them at the Tim Hortons counter, or by filling out one of the pre-order forms.
