South Surrey Festival of Trees event raises $3,700

Proceeds to benefit Sources' food bank

Sources White Rock/South Surrey Food Bank will receive a boost of more than $3,700, thanks to a holiday tradition at Pacifica Retirement Residence.

The Festival of Trees, in its ninth year, invited people to vote by donation for their favourite decorated fir among a display sponsored by local businesses at the 2525 King George Blvd. residence.

The winning tree was announced at an open house event.

Previous festivals have benefited organizations including Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.
