The Mission Springs’ Trailblazer Pilsner earned gold at the Canadian Brewing Awards (CBA) this past weekend.
“Nationally, this is the biggest competition for us brewers, and it’s just such an honour to be recognized for our hard work and dedication,” said head brewer, Kevin Winter.
The CBAs is the premiere competition for judging the quality of Canadian brewed beer. A medal earned is recognized as a symbol of brewing excellent, according to a press release from the Springs. A panel of approximately 25 certified beer judges, consider five criteria: aroma, appearance, flavour, mouth-feel, and overall impression when judging the beer.
The Trailblazer Pilsner is an ode to the rugged trail builders who have blazed mountain bike trails into the hillsides throughout B.C. Partial proceeds from this beer go to mountain bike trail stewardship, and the Fraser Valley Mountain Biking Association.
