Summit Environmental Consultants, the environmental science division of Associated Engineering, celebrates its 20th anniversary this week.
Over two decades ago, senior geoscientist, Brian Guy founded the company in Vernon, with the vision of bringing physical and biological scientists together under one roof to provide quality consulting services. At the time, no other company provided these complementary service offerings.
Amid the changing regulatory environment in B.C. during the mid-1990’s, Summit’s professional hydrologists, fisheries biologists, and wildlife biologists assisted clients in the forest industry, electrical utilities, and First Nations communities to better understand and comply with evolving environmental legislation, guidelines, and regulations.
Today, Summit’s client base has expanded to include all levels of government, industries, and other private companies.
Since joining Associated Engineering in 2010, Summit has expanded from two to eight offices across Western and Northern Canada and broadened its services to include information management systems; facilitation, mediation, and decision support; and environmental management and business sustainability systems.
“We would like to express our sincerest gratitude and best wishes to our staff, families, communities, and our valued clients, for their longstanding support in helping us achieve our goals as we continue to aim higher,” said Guy, vice president and general manager of Summit.
“We remain committed to building a respected and successful organization and contributing both as individuals and as an organization to initiatives that are important to us locally, such as the Okanagan Science Centre, Greater Vernon Adopt-a-Stream Program, and the North Okanagan Child Care Society.”
Summit takes pride in its role improving our environment and our communities through its projects and the active contributions of its staff in the communities where they work across Canada.
