Canucks' celebrities and Sophie Tweed-Simmons help raise funds for the Centre for Child Development.

It was a star-studded event at Pastime Sports & Games in Central City Shopping Centre Wednesday evening.

Vancouver Canuck’s defenceman Ryan Kesler, “The Green Men,” and Sophie Tweed-Simmons were on hand signing photos to benefit the Centre for Child Development.

Partial proceeds from the celebrity autograph event will help support Sophie’s Place, a child advocacy centre that helps physically, mentally, or sexually abused youth up to the age of 18 in a child-friendly environment.

“It’s really important that kids can have a place to go where they can be taken seriously, and where they can express what’s happened to them in a safe environment,” said Tweed-Simmons, who the facility is named after.

The Centre for Child Development is also hosting its 12th-annual Run, Walk and Roll fundraiser event on Sunday June, 2 at Bear Creek Park.
