Three Surrey residents won YWCA Metro Vancouver Women of Distinction awards Tuesday evening.
• Black and Blue Sari’s Kamal Dhillon – Community Building category.
“An inspirational speaker and writer, Kamal founded Black and Blue Sari to educate and empower communities to end domestic abuse.”
• Ocean Athletics’ Maureen de St. Croix – Health, Wellness and Athletics category.
“Maureen, founder and head coach of Ocean Athletics is a talented and dedicated athlete, coach and mentor.”
• Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts – Non-Profit and Public Service category.
