For the past three years the Sooke Harbourside Lions Club has been hosting a wine tasting.
“Last year was not as good a turnout,” said Margaret Bailey, chair of the event. “It was partly due to the change from February to March and there wasn’t enough time to organize it.”
This year is different with tickets already being sold for the popular evening taking place on Saturday, Feb. 12 at EMCS.
In addition to the BC wines being tasted, there will be beer from Pacific Western Brewery. Tugwell Creek Meadery will supply mead and wine and local eateries will provide appetizers.
Music, a silent auction (with Elton John tickets) mingling, chatting and fun will raise money for Camp Shawnigan.
“That’s the important factor for the fundraising,” said Bailey.
Tickets are available at Pemberton Holmes and Sooke’s two drug stores.
