If you’ve noticed an interesting façade on Hudson Street where Shuswap Pawn used to be, it’s the introduction to what is becoming two suites.

Owner Bill Laird said two 1,200-foot retail spaces are being created, one of which has been leased and the other is for lease.

Further down Hudson, the owners of the Dollar & Deal dollar store have purchased property next to  Hub International Barton Insurance where they are constructing a new building to house their dollar store. They hope to have it complete in two months.

Laird said he will be renovating the former dollar store building, which will become three retail stores. No leases have been signed yet. He’s expecting work to be complete by  June.

At 121 Hudson Ave. NE, DC Quinn’s Jewellers, in business for 26 years in Salmon Arm, recently set up shop after moving from Alexander Street. The store still specializes in custom manufacturing as well as repairs. DC Quinn’s also sells gold jewelry and is bringing in a new supply of silver jewelry and amber.
