After running for the past five months without a permanent president and CEO, Tourism Victoria announced the hiring of Paul Nursey on Tuesday to fill the roles.
Nursey, whose latest job was vice-president of strategy and communications for the Canadian Tourism Commission, starts Jan. 20. He succeeds Rob Gialloreto, who left the city’s destination marketing organization in June to become CEO of Consumer Protection B.C.
“In a strong candidate pool, Paul stood out in terms of his extensive skill set, passion and demonstrated tourism leadership,” Tourism Victoria board chair Dave Cowen said in a release.
Nursey was a unanimous first choice among the board of directors to be offered the job, Cowen added.
