THIS YEAR’S trade and outdoor show reflects the city’s potential, says the manager of the show’s organizer, the Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce.
“Terrace really is the service centre for the area and we want people to start thinking about that,” says Carol Fielding of the “Celebrate Terrace – your business service center” theme.
Bringing that theme to life is important for businesses moving into the area, she adds.
“We really are the hub. We have accommodation, supplies, transportation, medical facilities, the college and university,” said Fielding.
“What we are saying is here we are, use us,” she continued.
But the theme is just as important for people who already live here so they understand the value of what the city has to offer, Fielding added.
This year’s trade show is the 19th one to be mounted by the Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce.
Doors at the sportsplex open this Friday at 6 pm to a wide variety of booths and displays.
One popular display, that of the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans, has been expanded from last year. Also at the trade show is BC Hydro with a display promoting its Northwest Transmission Line.
There are main door prizes for adults and children.
