A popular West Shore establishment is closing its doors.
Ma Miller’s Pub announced on its Facebook page Jan. 28 that rumours circulating through the community are true and Sunday will be its last day.
“Everyone’s sad, ” owner Jessica Barry told Black Press Media. “This is a landmark. It’s more than just a pub. It’s a community in here.”
Barry said the closure is due to a tenancy issue and that it’s not her choice to leave, but declined to elaborate further. “We’re going out as happy and positive as we can.”
In the Facebook post, Barry said “I am so sad to say goodbye to what has been an exceptional journey but excited and optimistic for what lies ahead. We will all miss being here and being part of this neighbourhood and community.”

Barry is hopeful that they’ll be able to secure a new location and carry on the pub soon. For their final weekend, the pub is offering blowout specials and a new drink deal every hour. Barry said she would love for people to pop by to say their goodbyes.
“I want to give everyone a special thanks who has supported us over the years,” Barry said.
