Community support is important to Vernon’s Watkin Motors Ford.
For the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre, it’s important to have a partner join its family of cross-country skiers and be active in the club.
So it’s a great partnership for both.
The pair of organizations has announced a sponsorship deal with Watkin Motors donating the use of a 2018 Ford F150 XLT Sport pickup truck and 2018 Ford Eco Sport SEL to the club for its uses.
“We really like the programs they’re running,” said Steve Gutknecht, marketing and events manager for Watkin Motors. “They’re a great club that promotes a healthy lifestyle for all ages and abilities.”

The truck will be used by the Nordic centre for program operations, and the SUV will be available for club, staff and VIP use.
“We’re very appreciative of the sponsorship,” said Sovereign general manager Troy Hudson. “It’s a fantastic brand to help promote our club and our programs.”

Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre has also announced the dates for the 2020 Cross-Country Ski Nationals at the centre will run March 25 to April 2.
