Victoria businesses expect to hire this fall: survey

The survey suggests 17 per cent of employers plan to hire for the upcoming quarter

Victoria and Capital Regional District employers expect a positive hiring climate this fall, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.

The survey suggests 17 per cent of employers plan to hire for the upcoming quarter (October to December), while three per cent anticipate cutbacks.

“With seasonal variations removed from the data, Victoria and the Capital Regional District’s fourth quarter Net Employment Outlook of 19 per cent is an increase of eight percentage points when compared to the previous quarterly Outlook,” said Jeff Polkinghorne, an analyst with Manpower Employment.
