South Surrey restaurateur and television personality Vikram Vij is set to speak at Small Business BC April 2.
Vij, who was named Surrey’s Business Person of the Year, will speak to more than 200 entrepreneurs as part of the new Local Leaders spring/summer business mixer series, which runs from April to July.
Vij will discuss the highs and lows of being an immigrant entrepreneur during his discussion “Achieving Success Despite Adversity: The Trials and Tribulations of Entrepreneurship.”
The series – which runs in partnership with the provincial government – encourages the growth and development of local businesses by giving entrepreneurs an opportunity to network with and gain inspiration from top CEOs in the community.
Other CEOs slated to speak at the series include Brian Scudamore of 1-800-Got-Junk, You Move Me and Wow 1 Day Painting, Andrew Shepherd of Vancouver Island Salt Co. and Kelsey Ramsden of Belvedere Place Development.
The series will also mark the second anniversary of the BC Small Business Accord – a provincial effort to “help foster a progressive business culture and support current and future generations of small business owners across B.C.,” according to a news release.
