The Village of Burns Lake has recently added two staff members, including a new director of public works and a new economic development officer.
Dale Ross, the new director of public works, moved to Burns Lake from the Lower Mainland. However, he is already familiar with the area because he has been visiting family in Burns Lake for over 20 years. Ross was a maintenance superintendent in the private sector for over 20 years.
Val Anderson, the new economic development officer, has been a lifelong resident of the Lakes District. She has worked in many levels of government and has a long history in grant writing.
Both Ross and Anderson started their new positions in Burns Lake on Sept. 6, 2016.
Rob Krause, who’s been working part time as the village’s director of protective services (fire chief) while also working for the B.C. Wildfire Service, will start working full time for the village on Oct. 1, 2016.
