Courtenay-based EcoPEAK Strategy & Web Design must be doing something right. After five years of helping small- and medium-sized businesses get online, the demand just keeps growing.
Owner Sean Kerrigan attributes his company’s success to the clients that have entrusted him to help them build an online marketing strategy which focuses on website content, online marketing tools and best practices for design.
EcoPEAK was able to get off the ground five years ago through the Community Futures program.
“It was amazing to be part of that self-employment program,” Kerrigan said. “I learned so much about how to run my own business and I am proud to be part of the business community here in the Comox Valley.”
When asked whether he sees his business continue to thrive in the future, Kerrigan is confident that the demand for his specialized services will grow.
“I think that it is now very clear that all local business need some sort of online presence. What EcoPEAK does is help each client determine what their business goals are and translate those into the online realm. Whether a brochure-style website or a full-fledged online store, social media and email newsletters, each business must match their goals and budget with a web-based solution.”
A big part of Kerrigan’s job is staying current on the latest trends and technologies.
“I am constantly learning and reading. This ensures that all my projects are using the most to-date technologies, and look current and fresh.”
Along with leading EcoPEAK, Kerrigan teaches Design of Marketing Media at North Island College and Internet Marketing for Work BC. He also delivers presentations at Vancouver Island speaker events.
Kerrigan is also the community co-ordinator for the local tech group Comox Valley Web Posse.
