VQA Wine Store invites all to help celebrate their first anniversary Saturday from 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The day will feature local chefs, a winery rep, live music, door prizes, dessert and more.
“We are so happy with the warm reception we have received here in the Comox Valley but we still need to work on getting the word out,” owner Cindy Holland said.
There are just four BC VQA Wine Stores on Vancouver Island, three of which are in Victoria. The BC VQA designation guarantees the grapes are 100 per cent grown in B.C. Each wine has been evaluated by a panel of professional wine tasters and found to be fault free, otherwise it cannot be labeled BC VQA.
The province boasts more than 220 wineries with many producing international and national award-winning products — an amazing accomplishment considering other wine growing regions boast centuries of wine making and huge amounts of land dedicated to grape production.
The Courtenay store offers more than 400 wines, all at winery prices.
The store is open seven days per week. Location is #7, 3195 Cliffe Ave. It features weekly wine-tasting, chilled wines and accessories.
