It appears that Mission is soon to be the home of a Winners store.
That fact was announced – sort of – on Monday night during the District of Mission’s regular council meeting.
Council was presented with a commercial development permit application that had been received from Mallen Gowing Berzins Architecture, for a property located at 32525 London Avenue (The Junction Mall).
The purpose of the application is to facilitate the construction of a new single unit commercial building in the mall complex.
While the application does not mention Winners, the architectural designs included in the report shows a drawing of a new Winners store.
“I was actually quite thrilled to see a Winners come to this community,” said Coun. Jag Gill.
There are a lot of big chain stores and I hope they look at this, at Mission, as an opportunity to come to, because I have to go to Abbotsford for many stores and I’d love to shop in Mission.”
The property is approximately 4.79 hectares and is one of the three parcels that the Junction Mall complex is located on.
The proposed location of the new building is currently vacant and located east of the existing SilverCity Mission Cinemas and west of the existing Canadian Tire.
