Truck takes load of lumber from Canfor-Vavenby as second shifts get underway

A truck waits in front of Canfor's Vavenby operation as it gets loaded with lumber last week. Most Vavenby residents are happy to hear the humming of the Canfor mill and to see the logging trucks once again running their loads through town. A second shift started at both the sawmill and planer on Jan. 16, bringing the total number of employees to 146. Canfor executives tell local residents that the company is happy to have the Vavenby mill running again with its North American and Asian markets.
