Young entrepreneurs Rylie Kubilius (L) and Brooklyn King (R), both 10, await customers Thursday morning at the Belmont Elementary gymnasium in Langley. Rylie was selling hand-sewn decorative pillows and Brooklyn was selling handmade Christmas decorations with flashing lights. Business was brisk. There were dozens of young merchants selling wares. The event was presented by PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs and Envision Financial, which operate a six-week program to teach young people financial literacy by having them make and market products.
