If you are sorry The 39 Days of July are finished and are wishing they could continue, organizers have something special for you.
The 40th Day of July — one final fling for the summer — is scheduled for Duncan City Square on Sunday, Sept. 4, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“It’s very danceable music, so pack a picnic and come join us,” says Duncan entertainment guru Longevity John Falkner.
“We continue the theme of the 39 Days of July: ‘a rather fun place to be.’”
The lineup starts with the classic beach rock of Tropic Mayhem, followed at 5 p.m. by Mbira Spirit’s lively and eclectic show.
Island singer/songwriter Kendall Patrick takes the stage after that, followed at 7 p.m. by Grupo Cubano Brisas del Palmar, who Falkner describes as “the best from Cuba”.
It’s all about lots of free open-air fun held on the Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend.
“We believe this can become an annual event,” Falkner said, adding, “We do accept financial donations to offset the costs.”
