A cappella group Belle Voci performs in Langley

Shows scheduled in Langley City on June 9 and in Aldergrove on June 10

Chilliwack a cappella vocal ensemble Belle Voci presents four concerts throughout the Fraser Valley from June 7 to 10, including one in Langley and Aldergrove.

The Sacred Concert Series will feature a diverse selection of music, including Mass for five Voices by William Byrd, the eight-voice Hear my Prayer and Lux Aeterna, the seven-voice Loquebantur, and the five-part Down to the River to Pray.

The series kicks off in Abbotsford on June 7 at the Parish of St. Ann, followed by a performance at St. Thoman Anglican Church in Chilliwack on June 8.

On Saturday, June 9, the voices of Belle Voci come to Langley City’s St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish, and on Sunday, June 10 the series will wrap up in Aldergrove at Sts. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church.

Tickets for the first three performances are $20 each. Admission to the the last show in Aldergrove is by donation. All shows begin at 7 p.m.

“We love giving back to our community and this is why we like to do one concert by donation,” said ensemble founder Paula DeWit.

“We want to fill all the churches. This music is an enduring sacred heritage that we wish to keep alive.

“Come to experience the lovely churches but stay for the amazing music.”
