Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery is coming to the ACT.
Five actors play 40 characters in the Arts Club Theatre production, which is based on the classic novels by Arthur Conan Doyle, who created the character of Sherlock Holmes.
Billed as a fast-paced farcical adventure, the comical thriller takes place when wealthy Henry Baskerville is threatened by a bloodthirsty hound on the moor.
Holmes and his sidekick Dr. Watson take up the case.
Although it is a comedy, director John Murphy is still hoping to be able to scare the audience as well by using the most rudimentary of theatrical tools, such as shadow puppetry for the mythical, murderous hound.
The Arts Club Theatre Company was founded in 1964 and is the largest theatre company in Western Canada, the largest not-for-profit urban theatre company in Canada.
Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery is coming to the ACT Arts Centre at 8 p.m. on Nov. 5 at 11944 Haney Place.
Running time is two hours, including an intermission.
Tickets are $45 for adults, $40 for seniors and $15 for youth.
