An Abbotsford author has released her second children’s book.
The Stranger by Irmgard Schippmann, who uses the pen name AnaBella, tells the story of Claire and a “mysterious stranger” that shows up and takes residence in the garden the night after her birthday party.
The event distresses all the animals in the neighbourhood, including a mouse, a raccoon, a bird and a dachshund.
The book is illustrated by Valerie Woelk.
Schippmann’s first book, Kira: The Mysterious Disappearance, was released earlier this year. It is about a six-year-old poodle who decides to visit the forest and becomes lost, but experiences new adventures and makes new friends.
Schippmann was inspired to write upon the encouragement of her two granddaughters, Isabella and Tatiana, who loved to listen to her stories.
Both books are available at the House of James bookstore in Abbotsford.
