An Abbotsford mom who attends University of the Fraser Valley has released a children’s book.
The book Not Just a Princess by Ginger Ebbett is available in various book stores – including Coles in Sevenoaks Shopping Centre – and online at Amazon, Kindle and FriesenPress.
The book tells the story of a young girl who, during a game of dressup, tries on many career uniforms. In the end, she discovers that being herself is the best choice. Her future is full of possibilities, and she is truly not just a princess.
Ebbett, 22, is the mom of a one-year-old boy and three-year-old girl. She is halfway through a bachelor of arts, majoring in English with a minor in sociology.
“As a mother, I read children’s books daily. I got sick of the ‘she woke up and her prince was there!’ dialect in children’s books, so I decided to make one that is a bit more colourful and inclusive,” she said.
The book is also available locally at Save-on-Foods in Mission and Coles in Cottonwood Mall in Chilliwack.
