Abbotsford Traditional Secondary presents its production of Willie Wonka on Friday, Jan. 16 and Saturday, Jan. 17.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 both nights at the Abbotsford Arts Centre, 2329 Crescent Way.
Willy Wonka is an adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
The story begins with the wondrous chocolate factory owner Willy Wonka and an announcement of his retirement from the chocolate business.
He creates a contest in which five lucky boys and girls will have the opportunity to tour his factory if they manage to find one of the five golden tickets hidden somewhere amidst the millions of Wonka chocolate bars sold worldwide.
Charlie Bucket, the central character of the story, is a young boy from an impoverished family who is one of the fortunate few to discover the coveted golden ticket.
The story is about Charlie’s journey from his family shack to the chocolate factory and the tour of this unbelievable facility.
As the tour progresses, however, each of the kids is in for a surprise – some better than others.
Tickets for the show are $10 and are available at the school office, 2272 Windsor St., or at the door. Phone 604-850-7029 for more information.
