This August, Victoria will play host to the first World Accordion Championships in Canada in nearly 50 years.
To help cover the expense of staging such an international event, a fundraiser concert happens Friday (June 7) at 8 p.m. at Alix Goolden Hall. It will feature the B.C. Accordion Orchestra, along with tenor Ken Lavigne, accordionist Jelena Milojevic and fiddler Daniel Lapp.
Tickets are available at Tempo Trend, 410 Burnside Rd. E. (250-384-2111) and Long & McQuade, 756 Hillside Ave. (250-384-3622).
