Local painters who want to develop their acrylic painting techniques might want to consider joining artist Jill Paris Rody for an upcoming workshop at the Campbell River Art Gallery. “Acrylic Painting: From Practiced Beginners to Early Intermediate” is a program aimed at students who have previously taken Paris Rody’s classes, or have had some intermediate studies in mixing colours with a basic palette.
The class will run for four sessions Wednesday Sept. 30, Oct. 7, Oct. 14 and Oct. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Campbell River Art Gallery studio. Over the course of the four weeks, participants will work with a very limited palette, focusing on mixing greens for landscape, as well as exploring texture. Brushes for particular techniques and continued learning on atmospheric perspective will be covered.
Rody is a renowned Campbell River artist, with work in collections in North America and the UK. Her paintings reflect the places that she has called home.
The upcoming workshop costs $140, or $120 for Campbell River Art Gallery members.
Please be aware that space is limited, so don’t delay in registering.
