Margie Haber wants to help people find their power to live a better life.
Haber said finding your power takes openness, honesty, allowing yourself to be vulnerable and embracing a philosophy she calls “creating a life.”
She speaks in Nanaimo on June 25 from 2-6 p.m. at Cottonwood Golf Course, located at 1975 Haslam Rd. Her talk is being presented by Spotlight Academy and will help actors change their perspective on acting and auditioning.
“I don’t teach techniques. I teach outside of the box,” said Haber. “I teach people to create slices of life.”
She said curiosity and empathy are important so people can connect with others and determine their needs.
“What I do is teach people to create a life rather than do a scene or audition,” said Haber.
Haber has more than 40 years of experience as an audition coach. Although her Vancouver Island talk is primarily focused on actors she said it can apply to anyone who wants to make changes in their lives.
Haber is the author of How to Get the Part Without Falling Apart and has an interactive app called Stop Acting.
