This week’s Summer Kicks concert brings Vancouver-based singer songwriter Tonye Aganaba to Spirit Square with David L’Hirondelle.
Aganaba performs dynamic dubstep, nu-soul, and other rhythm and blues and styles, and her songs strive to heal, connect, and make a difference in the world and to those listening to her music.
Award-winning Aganaba had her impressive career trajectory waylaid by a multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2015, and she was forced to radically reassess her goals.
Now, more focused than ever, she is showcasing compelling new songs that reflect her current, more purposeful journey.
Most recently, Aganaba gained notoriety in the electronic music world following her new dubstep venture.
Aganaba is joined by Canadian songwriter L’Hirondelle, who has long-term experience playing everything from backyard jams, to biker parties, to hole-in-the-wall bars, leading to his diverse range of musical style.
L’Hirondelle has been through Golden before, playing here three years ago touring his EP, which was released in 2016.
Catch Aganaba and L’Hirondelle at Spirit Square this Wednesday, July 4 at 7 p.m.
Next week, get prepared for the return of Valdy, who is ranked as one of Canada’s greatest songwriters, joined by Carl Trinkwon and the Masters of Nun from Golden.
