Alberni Valley welcomes new arts festival

Let’s put the Alberni Valley on the map with another reason for people to come and visit this community.

Let’s put the Alberni Valley on the map with another reason for people to come and visit this community. The Solstice Arts Festival is a new arts festival, from June 17-19 that brings four arts groups together under one umbrella, to bring to the community an unforgettable weekend of artists, art exhibits, music, theatrical performances and street entertainment fun for the whole family.

This is something new for the community, combining several events for one big weekend of entertainment.

The groups involved are all not- for-profit groups that are hoping this will help secure the future of this event for the Alberni Valley.

Without the support of the community we can’t survive, so please come out and support these wonderful organizations while enjoying a jam-packed weekend to help celebrate art and community.

Featuring Days with the Arts at the Rollin Art Centre, joined by Portal Players Dramatic Society, Alberni Art Rave Society and Art Matters Society – F.A.C.E.

Tickets are now available at the Rollin Art Centre, and Char’s Landing.

Current exhibit

Art in the School is back for its fifth year.

The Rollin Art Centre is excited to bring this month’s art exhibit at the Rollin Art Centre. Two local artists went to Wood, E.J. Dunn, John Howitt and Haahuupayak elementary schools.

Working with grades three to four, the artists helped students with basic painting skills to portraits done in pencil. The exhibit will run now until June 11.
