Join in on a Scottish party this weekend, honouring famed Scottish poet Robbie Burns on what would have been his 252nd birthday.
The 9th annual Robbie Burns Supper & Ceilidh Dance is happening at the Community Hall in Qualicum Beach, complete with with live music, Ceilidh dancing, poetry, traditional toasts and haggis. The Scottish delicacy, containing sheep organs, will make a grand entrance, followed in by a world renowned bag piper.
All the proceeds from the event will go to the BC Cancer Foundation and the Mid-Island Dragon Boat Team.
The event happens this Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Qualicum Beach Community Hall. Tickets are $40 available from the Vintage Candy Shop and Brit Foods in Parksville. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m.
