For the first time in what feels like a long time, race fans can witness some of Canada’s top stock car racers compete at Area 27 on July 8 and 10.
The 2021 season-opening doubleheader weekend for the Avion Motorsports RS1 series Festival of Speed will feature the Superseal Twin 200s at Area 27 circuit near Oliver.
Following a strict COVID-19 safety protocol, race fans will be allowed onto the grounds to witness some of Canada’s top stock car racers compete in this special event weekend.
“We’ve taken a lot of care in crafting a plan together for the Superseal Twin 200s and the Festival of Speed that will allow us to welcome racing fans to see a great weekend of action,” said Avion Motorsports general manager Al Lebert. “The talented drivers that have signed on to race this year and the special guests are going to make for an awesome festival whether you’re at the track or watching the live stream.”
Area 27 is a great setting featuring several first-rate viewing areas to watch drivers like Alex Tagliani, Andrew Ranger, Noel Dowler, Scott Hargrove, and Jason White as they join other series regulars like Sean McIntosh, Trevor and Ryley Seibert and more battle wheel to wheel in the first two races of the season.
This will mark the first time that spectators have been allowed onto the grounds to witness the exciting competition. Tickets to watch will be available in person at Boston Pizza in Penticton, the Hotel Penticton and Lordco Auto Parts in Penticton. They are also available at the Avion Motorsports website avionmotorsports.com through Eventbrite.
General Admission turn one viewing area is $20 per day, start/finish line viewing area is also $20 per day
Preferred Viewing Area inside the track $30 per day. Children under 12 admitted free with an adult.
Capacity limits and additional COVID-19 protocols will be strictly enforced to follow Provincial Health Officer guidelines. There will be on-site concessions.
Each of the Cup Series along with the Challenge Series races will be available to watch live on REV TV Canada, and via live streaming on additional platforms. More details to come.
Catch the Avion Sprint Car Series on July 24 and Aug. 21 at Penticton Speedway and again at Area 27 on Sept. 18.
