Armstrong resident releases first full-length book

A jack of all trades, Armstrong resident Richard Wallace can now add published author to his resume.

A jack of all trades, Armstrong resident Richard Wallace can now add published author to his resume.

The former RCMP officer, who arrived in Armstrong with his wife and family to farm, and has since worked a number of jobs, has just released his first full-length published book, More Truth than Fiction, The Poetry and Short Stories of Richard Wallace.

This isn’t Wallace’s first foray into writing. Last year, he released three smaller chapbooks, and held a signing for them at Nadine’s Fine Art and Frames in Vernon.

Along with the stories contained in his chapbooks, Wallace’s new book contains some new stories and poems.

“The fantastic public response to his chapbooks earlier this year helped Richard firm up the dream of actually publishing a real book…  with title page, a list of contents, and best of all, showcasing many of Richard’s as-of-yet undiscovered poems,” reads a release.

Wallace is holding a meet and greet and signing for his newly published book Friday at the Armstrong Chamber of Commerce building from 2 to 5 p.m. while another signing is expected to take place at Nadine’s Fine Art and Frames in March.
