There are only a few days left to check out the Nanaimo Art Council’s Summer Art Show and Sale.

The show and sale, which is being held at the art council’s gallery inside Nanaimo North Town Centre, consists of a number of different media including paintings and pottery by local artists.

The show features a number of pieces by Nanaimo potter Audrey Verhaar, which can be purchased. She said creating pottery is a humbling experience.

“You have a piece of clay that comes from the earth and is being processed as clay; from basically almost nothing one can create something useful,” Verhaar told the News Bulletin.

The art show and sale runs until Sunday (Aug. 31) at the mall, located at 259-4750 Rutherford Rd. For more information, please call 250-729-3947 or visit www.nanaimoartscouncil.ca.
