An opening reception occurs Saturday, Nov. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. for the latest show at Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.).
The gallery presents paintings by the youth of Gurmat Center, a non-profit school that aims to educate Sikh youth in their cultural language – the Gurmukhi script (Punjabi alphabet) – and allow them to explore their Sikh identity in a safe and supportive environment.
Many of the artists will be on hand at the opening reception, and representatives from Gurmat Center will be present to talk about their work in the community.
The show runs from Nov. 24 to Dec. 18 during gallery hours – Tuesdays to Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
