The 52nd annual spring show will feature the best work by members of the Garibaldi Art Club.
In Pursuit of Excellence will showcase paintings in a diversity of styles and media.
The Garibaldi Art Club was started 52 years ago by a group of artists who got together in their homes to paint. Its mission is to foster the growth and development of its members’ creativity and share it with the community.
The club consists of more than 80 men and women, beginners to advanced, from the Sunday painter to the full-time artist, and includes work of all painterly media.
The spring show will be juried by artists Lalita Hamill, Olwyn Geeling and Lyn Pajunen.
Hamill is a professional artist whose representational award-winning paintings are recognized as highly skilled, innovative and touching. She has an honours degree in philosophy and is artistically primarily self-taught.
While Hamill specializes in portraiture, landscapes and still life, she is well known for her versatility; she is skilled at using and teaching a wide range of media in a variety of styles and subjects. She is a popular instructor and facilitates a free monthly art critique session in Langley.
