The Pearl Ellis Gallery will present its annual spring art show and sale by the members of the Monday Bunch.

The show opens April 13 and runs until May 2. The gallery is located on the lower level of 1729 Comox Avenue and is open to the public daily from 1 to 4 p.m..

There will be a “meet and greet” reception hosted by the artists April 16 during opening hours.

During the show there will be an exhibiting artist in attendance daily who will provide visitors with any information they may require.  There is no charge to visit the gallery.

On Monday mornings from September to May this group of enthusiastic artists gathers at the Lion’s Den, next door to the Gallery. They paint from 10 am to 2 p.m..

If you have ever thought that you would like to take up painting as a hobby, drop in and see the artists at work. They are a non-competitive group who provide friendly support for each other and produce images in a refreshing and creative atmosphere.

The members paint in a variety of mediums ranging from oils and acrylics to watercolours.  There is no instructor but the member artists experiment with their own styles, at their own pace. The Monday Bunch has been in existence for over 25 years and has 20 member artists.

Each painter has a unique background and displays their personality and curiosity in their work. They gain inspiration from each other and a variety of other sources.

Subject matter varies widely and can encompass landscapes, florals, portraits, whimsy, wildlife, seascapes, modern, sports, inspirational and architecture.

Pearl Ellis Gallery members receive 10 per cent off the purchase of any painting on the first official opening day of the show, which is April 16 during the “meet and greet.” New annual memberships for the Pearl Ellis Gallery can be purchased at any time for $20 a year.
