Members of the Chilliwack Visual Artists Association have been given an open canvas to work with for the group’s final exhibition of the year.
CVAA group show, Artist’s Choice, will be on display Dec. 8 to Jan. 7 in the Cultural Centre Art Gallery.
They have chosen a title, instead of a theme, giving the artists a much freer choice and the ability to display something already painted, carved, sculpted, or photographed.
They do not mean something hidden away in an attic, gathering dust, but a piece of art for which a new idea came to life for the artist. Perhaps it’s a change from their usual style, a different journey, a different type of visual art, or pushing the boundaries?
Artist’s Choice runs Dec. 8 to Jan. 7 at the Cultural Centre inside the art gallery. Opening reception is set for Saturday, Dec. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Gallery hours are Wednesdays to Saturdays, from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
