Arts around: Rollin Art Centre exhibits due to switch in a week

New exhibits and more on the Alberni arts scene this week.

This will be the last week to view the Wednesday Painters’ art exhibit at the Rollin Art Centre’s gallery. 14 artists are displaying their wonderful talents, all individuals. If you haven’t had the opportunity to stop by, this will be your last chance.

Gojdova’s art fresh, diverse

The Rollin Art Centre’s next Art exhibit begins Feb. 10 featuring local artist Miroslava Gojdova’s. Don’t miss this opportunity to view her diverse collection of drawings, paintings and photographs.

Stop by the gallery, Sat. Feb. 14 from 1-3 p.m. for Miroslava’s artist reception, and join us for refreshments while supporting local artists.

Rollin seeks artists for 2016

The Rollin Art centre is now accepting applications to all visual artists and artist groups to submit an application to exhibit their work in our Fine Arts Gallery during the 2016 calendar year. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your own art exhibit or group exhibit.

Application forms are available at the Rollin Art Centre or you can download an application at www.portalberniarts.com.

Deadline is April 30, 2015.

The gallery is located at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Argyle Street, and open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tues., to Sat. call 250-724-3412 for more info.

Time to renew memberships

All Community Arts Council memberships are to be renewed in January.

The cost is only $17 for adults, $12 for seniors (65 and older) and $22 for a family.
